Continuous service and opening hours

Is HABILE open with continuous service?

Yes, and it's our signature. HABILE serves continuously Tuesday to Saturday, from 11am to 11pm, at 16 rue de Lancry in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. You can have lunch, a snack or dinner at whatever time suits you: there is no break between services.

What are HABILE's opening hours?

HABILE is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 11am to 11pm without interruption. Closed Sunday and Monday. The kitchen runs all day, including the afternoon, and takes last orders until 11pm.

Where to eat at 3pm or 4pm near République?

HABILE, at 16 rue de Lancry, serves continuously from 11am to 11pm Tuesday to Saturday: you can eat at 3pm just as easily as at 8pm. It's one of the rare addresses in the 10th where the kitchen doesn't close between services, five minutes' walk from Place de la République.

Can you dine early, before 7pm?

Where to eat with continuous service in Paris 10th?

HABILE, 16 rue de Lancry, is a bistronomic restaurant open continuously from 11am to 11pm Tuesday to Saturday. Between République, the Canal Saint-Martin and Gare de l'Est, it's one of the rare tables in the neighbourhood where the kitchen runs without interruption throughout the afternoon.

What is a continuous-service restaurant?

A continuous-service restaurant keeps its kitchen open all day, without closing between lunch and dinner. You can order a proper dish at 3pm or 6pm, not just a sharing board. HABILE operates this way from 11am to 11pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

What are HABILE's annual closing dates?

HABILE closes for three weeks in summer and two weeks at Christmas. In 2026: from 8 to 31 August, then from 22 December to 4 January inclusive. Outside these periods, the restaurant welcomes guests Tuesday to Saturday, from 11am to 11pm.

Is HABILE open on public holidays?

Yes. On public holidays falling Tuesday to Saturday, HABILE remains open at its usual hours — including 1 May, which is rare in Paris. The only exceptions are the annual closures in August and at Christmas, as well as 31 December.

Is a reservation required or can I walk in?

How do I modify or cancel a reservation?

Where can I park near Canal Saint-Martin?

On-street parking on rue de Lancry is paid and limited. Two covered car parks open 24/7 are a few minutes' walk away: Onepark, 40 rue René Boulanger, and Interparking Alhambra, 50 rue de Malte. The neighbourhood is also very well served by metro and Vélib'.

How do I get to HABILE from Gare du Nord or Gare de l'Est?

From Gare de l'Est, allow about ten minutes on foot via rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin. From Gare du Nord, about fifteen minutes on foot, or two metro stops to République. HABILE is at 16 rue de Lancry, in the 10th arrondissement.

Is the restaurant accessible to people with reduced mobility?

HABILE is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Details of the facilities and any exemptions are set out in our public accessibility register, available online and on site. To prepare your visit in the best possible conditions, call us on 01 44 63 82 62.

Can I come with a dog?

Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome in the dining room, and we keep dedicated water bowls available for them. For a large dog or a very busy service, a quick call to 01 44 63 82 62 beforehand lets us seat you in the best spot.

Does HABILE have a terrace?

No, HABILE does not have a terrace. The dining room, however, has high ceilings, plenty of natural light and air conditioning — making it a comfortable spot in the height of summer as much as in winter, at any time of day.

Dining — the menu and set menus

What is bistronomie?

Bistronomie means gastronomy-level cooking served in the relaxed setting of a bistrot: carefully sourced ingredients and refined technique, but no starched tablecloths or ceremony. At HABILE, that translates into a seasonal menu, in a place where you're just as welcome alone as in a group of twelve.

What budget should I plan for a meal at HABILE?

We work à la carte, so the bill depends on what you choose. Some benchmarks: the lunch set menu is €29 for two courses and €35 for three, the plant-based menu is €69, and the tasting menu is €96.

Do you offer a lunch set menu?

Yes, Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Starter + main or main + dessert at €29, all three at €35. It follows the daily menu and changes with the market. After 3pm, the full menu continues to be served until 11pm.

What is HABILE's menu of the day?

The daily menu changes every day, with the market and the season. It is published each morning on the Lunch page of the site and sent by email to subscribers. The permanent menu runs alongside it, throughout the day.

How do I receive the daily menu by email?

Enter your address in the form on the Lunch page: you'll receive the daily menu straight to your inbox. An unsubscribe link is included in every email, and your address is used for nothing else.

Do you offer a tasting menu?

Yes, the tasting menu unfolds over seven courses — three starters, two mains, two desserts — at €96 per person. It gives the fullest picture of the kitchen. A vegan version of the seven courses is available on request; please mention it when booking.

Products, dietary requirements and takeaway

Does the menu change with the seasons?

Yes. The menu follows the rhythm of the seasons and incoming produce, and the daily special changes every day. That's what allows us to work with each product at its best moment rather than keeping the same menu all year round.

Where do the products served at HABILE come from?

We work with small producers selected one by one, favouring short supply chains and traceability. The same principle guides the wine list, made up of natural wines from vignerons we know personally. The menu names the products; the front-of-house team is happy to answer any questions about their origins.

Do you offer vegetarian or vegan dishes?

Yes. The Plant-based Menu, at €69, unfolds over five courses built entirely around vegetables — it is vegetarian, with dairy and eggs. A vegan version of this five-course menu is available on request; please mention it when booking.

How do you handle allergies and gluten-free requirements?

An allergen register is available in the dining room and covers the entire menu. Please flag any allergy or intolerance when booking and again on arrival: the kitchen will adapt the dish where possible, and will tell you honestly when it cannot.

Do you have a children's menu?

We don't have a set children's menu, but the kitchen is happy to prepare a plate adapted from the day's produce. Our croque-monsieur, always on the menu, is a firm favourite with children. A high chair is available — just ask when booking.

Can you take HABILE dishes away?

Yes. The entire menu can be made to take away, on request. Call us on 01 44 63 82 62 so the kitchen can organise the preparation, and collect your order at 16 rue de Lancry, Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 11pm.

Privatisation and groups

Can HABILE. be privatised?

Yes, in full or by floor. The venue spans three levels at 16 rue de Lancry: 38 seated on the ground floor, 19 on the first, 6 to 15 in the basement speakeasy, and up to 90 standing. Every privatisation is built to order.

How much does it cost to privatise a restaurant like HABILE.?

Privatising the ground floor or the entire venue starts from a €4,000 minimum spend, outside of peak periods. The basement speakeasy, more intimate, is discussed on a case-by-case basis. Send us your date and headcount and we'll put together a proposal.

Do you have a private room for a small group in Paris 10?

Yes. The basement speakeasy can be privatised from 6 guests and seats up to 15. It's the most discreet space in the venue, equipped for a meeting as much as a dinner. Every request is considered individually, with no set package imposed.

How many people can come as a group?

Seated: 38 on the ground floor, 19 on the first floor, 6 to 15 in the speakeasy. Standing, the venue holds up to 90. We always work to order: tell us your headcount and the format you have in mind, and we'll suggest the right configuration.

What group menu do you offer?

Group menus are built to order, drawing from the current menu and your requirements — budget, dietary needs, length of the meal. There's no fixed package: since every request is unique, we'd rather compose something with you than run through a catalogue.

Can we organise a birthday, a family meal or a corporate cocktail?

Yes, all three. The venue adapts to a seated meal or a standing cocktail, on one floor or in full, up to 90 people. We handle the menu, the wines from the cave and the organisation of service. Let us know the date, headcount and format to receive a proposal.

Can only part of the venue be privatised?

Yes. The three levels can be privatised separately: the basement speakeasy from 6 people, the first floor, or the ground floor. The restaurant can therefore continue to serve while your group has its own space.

Events & professionals

What are the deadlines and deposit required to book a private hire?

The date is secured upon payment of a 50 % deposit, with the balance due 48 hours before the event. Cancellation is possible up to one week before the chosen date. These terms are confirmed to you in writing with the proposal.

Where to organise a corporate lunch near République?

HABILE, at 16 rue de Lancry, welcomes corporate lunches and dinners Tuesday to Saturday, five minutes from Place de la République. The continuous service from 11am to 11pm lets you fit the meal around your meeting rather than the other way around, and each level can be privatised separately.

Can we organise a seminar or team meeting with lunch?

Yes. The basement speakeasy is equipped with a 60-inch smart TV and power outlets: presentations and lunch follow one after the other without changing venue. The continuous service lets you schedule the meal at whatever time suits your programme.

Can the venue be hired for a photo shoot or filming?

Yes, on request, from €4,000. The venue brings together a restaurant, a wine cellar and a clothing boutique across three levels — a coherent, lived-in setting that is rare in Paris. Contact us with your dates and technical requirements.

Do you offer a catering service for an external event?

We do not offer a catalogue catering service. However, a bespoke event can include an off-site catering element: send us a request specifying the venue, date and number of guests, and we will let you know what is possible.

Do you organise workshops or cooking classes?

No, we do not offer cooking classes. To discover the kitchen's work, the seven-course tasting menu at €96 remains the best way in, and the front-of-house team is happy to answer questions about the produce and techniques.

Cellar & wines

What is a natural wine?

A natural wine comes from grapes grown without synthetic products and vinified without additives: no added yeasts, no correction, little or no sulphur. There is no single label for it, so everything rests on knowing the winemaker — that is the philosophy behind our wine selection.

What is the difference between natural wine, organic wine and biodynamics?

Organic is a European certification that governs how the vines are grown, not what happens in the cellar. Biodynamics adds a framework of preparations and agricultural rhythms. Natural wine is about vinification: no additives, no correction. You can be organic without being natural, and the other way around.

How many references are on HABILE's wine list?

Around 300 natural and biodynamic references, sourced from demanding winemakers across France. Reds, whites, orange, rosés and sparkling — celebrated names alongside hidden gems. The selection evolves with each new encounter and each new season.

Do you serve wine by the glass?

Yes: three reds and three whites by the glass at all times, with a rosé added in summer. The selection rotates with each new arrival, and the team will let you taste before they pour. The full cellar is also available by the bottle.

Can you buy bottles to take away at HABILE?

Yes, all our bottles are available to take away at wine-shop prices, on site, Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 11pm. The choice is the same as at the table: the cellar is open for retail as well as for service, with advice from the team. We do not ship orders.

How are the winemakers chosen for HABILE's cellar?

We work with winemakers we meet in person and whose cuvées we taste ourselves, favouring small estates working naturally or biodynamically. The selection is built on relationships and on flavour, not on a distributor's catalogue.

Can I ask for food and wine pairing advice?

Of course — that is precisely the point of having a cellar run from the floor. Tell us what you have ordered, what you enjoy and your budget: the team will suggest two or three bottles and let you taste before they pour. The same advice applies for a bottle to take away.

Natural wine in practice

Do you charge a corkage fee?

Yes. You can bring your own bottle with a corkage fee of €15 per bottle and €30 per magnum. Please let us know at the time of booking — it allows us to plan the service and the appropriate glassware.

Do you offer wines for a wedding or private event?

Yes. We put together a selection tailored to the number of guests and the menu, with quantities calculated to avoid excess — and unopened bottles are taken back after the event. Collection is in person, at 16 rue de Lancry.

Do you organise tastings or meetings with winemakers?

We don't organise tastings on set dates. Discovery happens at the table or at the counter, with the team pouring by the glass and talking you through the estates. It's a more direct way into the cellar than a scheduled session.

Does a natural wine keep as long as a conventional wine?

Yes, when it is well made and well kept. The idea that a wine without sulphur won't last comes from bottles that were poorly transported or stored in the heat. Keep them on their side, at a stable, cool temperature, away from light — many gain in depth over time.

Why are some natural wines cloudy or slightly sparkling?

A cloudy wine has simply not been filtered or fined — the particles remain in suspension, which affects neither the taste nor the safety of the wine. A slight effervescence often signals residual fermentation gas. Both are markers of minimal-intervention winemaking, not faults.

At what temperature should a natural wine be served, and should it be decanted?

Serve whites and orange wines at around 10–12 °C, light reds between 14 and 16 °C — never at room temperature of 20 °C, which flattens everything. Decanting helps wines that are reductive, aerating them for a few minutes. When in doubt, open and taste before deciding.

Where can I find a natural wine cellar in the 10th arrondissement?

The HABILE. cellar, at 16 rue de Lancry, is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 11pm, five minutes from République and two from the Canal Saint-Martin. Around 300 references, all available to take away at cellar prices, with advice.

Boutique

What is workwear?

Workwear refers to clothing originally designed for work: heavy-duty fabrics, relaxed cuts, functional pockets, reinforced seams. These pieces moved from the workshop to everyday wardrobes because they last and age well. That's the territory of the HABILE collection, designed by Camille Andrieux.

What's the difference between workwear, bleu de travail and utilitarian clothing?

The bleu de travail is the French, historical version of the genre: a work outfit, often in dyed cotton. Workwear is the generic term, American in origin. Utilitarian clothing refers more broadly to any piece designed for function before appearance. The same logic of durability applies.

What does the HABILE boutique sell?

A unisex collection divided into four families: jackets and trousers, tops, accessories, stationery. Jacket, dungarees, trousers, shirt, sweatshirt, t-shirt, jumper, scarf, apron, beanie, bandana, socks. From jackets inspired by the bleu de travail to virgin wool jumpers, everything is designed to last and be repaired.

Where is the HABILE boutique and what are its opening hours?

The boutique occupies the first floor of 16 rue de Lancry, above the restaurant, with the same opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 11pm. You can try on a piece after lunch, or before sitting down to eat.

Where are HABILE clothes made?

The knitwear is knitted in France, by Saint James in Normandy — that's the case for the jumpers. The rest of the collection is made in workshops in Portugal. Special editions are screen-printed in Paris. Never further afield: that's a rule, not a selling point.

What materials do you use and why?

GOTS-certified organic cotton for the bulk of the collection, and virgin wool for the knitwear — our jumper is 100% virgin wool. Materials chosen to last and be repaired rather than replaced. The composition is listed on each product page.

Are the pieces unisex, and how do you choose your size?

The collection is unisex, unapologetically: at HABILE, everyone is welcome without distinction. Sizes run from XS to XL, with one-size options on certain accessories. Workwear cuts are relaxed: if in doubt, the best thing is to come up and try them on on the first floor.

Fitting, personalisation and care

Can I try on an item in the shop after seeing it online?

Yes, and that's what we recommend for a first piece: workwear cuts fit differently from everyday clothing. You can also message us to have a piece set aside before you come in. The shop is on the first floor at 16 rue de Lancry.

Where can I buy a quality apron in Paris?

Our apron is part of the collection, at 90 €, in the same spirit as the rest: sturdy cotton, a cut designed for use, European manufacturing. It can be tried on at the first floor of 16 rue de Lancry. We don't kit out full teams, but embroidery personalisation is available.

Can I have an HABILE piece embroidered?

Yes, embroidery personalisation is available on request. The lead time depends on the complexity of the design and the number of pieces — write to us with your project and we'll let you know what's possible and how long it will take.

Do you do alterations or repairs?

We don't do alterations. However, any manufacturing defect is covered: bring the piece back to the shop and we'll take care of it. Our fabrics are chosen to be repairable, and we're happy to advise on the care that extends a garment's life.

How do I care for a thick cotton work jacket?

Wash as infrequently as possible, at 30 °C inside out, without fabric softener which breaks down the fibre. Air dry, never in a tumble dryer, and iron slightly damp if needed. Raw canvas develops a patina with wear: the marks that appear at the folds are part of the garment.

What are the delivery, return and exchange timeframes?

The full terms are detailed in our general terms and conditions, accessible from the site. For distance selling, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of receipt. Returns are accepted on intact, unworn pieces, checked before being returned to stock.

Gifting HABILE

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes, via the "Offrir HABILE" page on the website. The voucher is issued at the value of a set menu or for a free amount between €20 and €500, sent by email with its number and code. It is valid for 12 months and can be used in a single transaction.

How does the HABILE gift voucher work?

It is ordered online and arrives by email. Present it before the bill: if the total exceeds the voucher amount, you pay the difference; if it is lower, the difference is not refunded. The recipient's name is indicative — the voucher remains transferable.

Can you give a meal or a bottle as a gift at HABILE?

Yes, in three ways: a gift voucher at the value of a set menu or the amount of your choice, a bottle selected from the cellar with the team's advice, or a piece from the collection. Everything can be picked up at 16 rue de Lancry, Tuesday to Saturday.

Gift ideas in Paris 10?

At HABILE, three options in one place: a gift voucher valid at the restaurant and the shop, a natural wine bottle chosen with guidance, or a piece from the collection. That's the advantage of a space that brings together a restaurant, a cellar and a wardrobe.

Times of year

Is HABILE open on 1 May?

Is HABILE open on 24 and 25 December?

No. HABILE closes for two weeks at Christmas: in 2026, from 22 December to 4 January inclusive. For a year-end group meal, privatisation bookings open in autumn, before the closure.

Is HABILE open on 31 December?

HABILE closes for three weeks in August — from the 8th to the 31st in 2026. At the start of the month and from the rentrée onwards, the restaurant, wine cellar and shop are open as usual, Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 11pm.

Where to have dinner for Valentine's Day near the Canal Saint-Martin?

HABILE offers a special menu on 14 February, at 16 rue de Lancry, two minutes from the Canal Saint-Martin. Details are announced in January on the website and in the newsletter. Reservations strongly recommended: the evening fills up fast.

Where to take your mother for Mother's Day in the 10th arrondissement?

Mother's Day falls on a Sunday, so HABILE is closed that day. The Saturday before, however, continuous service from 11am to 11pm allows for a late lunch or an early dinner, with no time pressure. Reservations recommended for that weekend.

Where to eat during Fashion Week in the 10th arrondissement?

HABILE brings together a restaurant, wine cellar and fashion boutique under one roof, at 16 rue de Lancry, five minutes from République. Continuous service from 11am to 11pm makes it easy to fit in a meal between appointments, and the venue can be privatised for a brand event.

Drinks and daytime visits

Can you come just for a drink?

Yes. La Cave is open continuously from 11am to 11pm, Tuesday to Saturday: you can sit down for a glass of natural wine without having a meal, at any time of day. Three reds and three whites by the glass at all times, a rosé in summer.

Where to have aperitivo near République?

HABILE, at 16 rue de Lancry, serves its natural wines by the glass continuously from 11am to 11pm, Tuesday to Saturday, five minutes from Place de la République. With La Cave on site, aperitivo hour can easily turn into a full meal without changing address.

Are there sharing plates?

Yes. The charcuterie plate is made for sharing, and so are most of our starters — they work very well placed in the middle of the table, with a glass. The continuous service means you can put together that kind of moment at any hour.

Can you work during the day at HABILE?

Yes, you are welcome to come with a laptop during the day. Power outlets (220V and USB) are available within reach of the tables, and the continuous service means you won't be asked to give up your table between sittings. During peak hours, the bustle makes it a less comfortable experience.

Do you serve cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks?

Yes. There is always at least one non-alcoholic cocktail on the menu, alongside a wide selection of kombuchas, lemonades and fruit juices — crafted with the same care as everything else. Drinking without alcohol at HABILE is not an afterthought.

Practical information & trust

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, cash, and foreign cards. We do not accept meal vouchers in any form, paper or digital.

Is tipping expected in France?

No, it is never expected: service is included in the displayed prices, as required by law. Leaving a tip is entirely your choice — usually a few euros or 5 to 10% when you've enjoyed the meal. No one will think less of you if you leave nothing.

Do you speak English, and is the menu available in English?

Yes, the team welcomes you in English and the menu is available in English. The website can also be browsed in English and Spanish. We welcome visitors every day passing through between Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est and the Canal Saint-Martin.

Is the menu available in Spanish?

Yes. The menu is available in Spanish and part of the team speaks Spanish. The restaurant is at 16 rue de Lancry, 10th arrondissement of Paris, five minutes from Place de la République, open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 11pm without a break.

Can you dine alone at HABILE?

Yes, and it's actually a great way to explore the wine list: the counter makes it easy to chat with the team about the wines of the moment. With continuous service from 11am to 11pm, you can settle in outside peak hours, with no wait and no reservation needed.

Is there a dress code at HABILE?

None. HABILE is a bistrot, not a formal dining room: come as you are, straight from the office or the workshop. The workwear shop on the first floor says enough about our relationship with dress.

How do I retrieve something left behind at the restaurant?

Call us at 01 44 63 82 62 or write to us with the date, time and table. We keep lost property for one month and return it during opening hours, Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 11pm.

Brand, team, press and jobs

How do I leave a review or report a problem?

Tell us first — in person or at 01 44 63 82 62: a problem raised during service is one we can fix. Your public reviews on Google matter to us and we respond to every one. For a more detailed comment, write to us via the Contact page.

Who is Eric Fontanini, the chef at HABILE?

Eric Fontanini is the chef and president of HABILE, awarded two toques in the Gault & Millau. His cooking is built on seasonal produce, small producers and traceability. He founded the venue at 16 rue de Lancry together with Camille Andrieux.

Who is Camille Andrieux?

Camille Andrieux is general manager of HABILE and a fashion designer. She is behind the clothing collection — unisex pieces inspired by the work coat, knitwear made in France — and the visual identity of the house. The restaurant and the wardrobe share the same eye, applied to two different crafts.

Why a restaurant, a shop and a wine cellar in the same place?

Because the same criteria apply to a dish, a bottle and a jacket: knowing where something comes from, who made it, and whether it stands the test of time. At 16 rue de Lancry, HABILE brings together a bistronomic table, a natural wine cellar and a clothing collection.

Are there other restaurants with a fashion boutique in Paris?

It's rare, and that's precisely the idea behind HABILE: a restaurant with its own clothing brand, and a clothing brand with its own restaurant. Camille Andrieux is a fashion designer, Eric Fontanini is a chef — the collection is tried on upstairs, the food is tasted on the ground floor.

Is HABILE hiring, and how do I apply?

We regularly hire for kitchen and front-of-house positions, on permanent contracts. Send your application via the Contact page, or drop it off in person during opening hours, Tuesday to Saturday. We respond to every application.

How do I contact HABILE for press or a partnership?

Write to presse@habile.com, specifying your media outlet or project and your deadline. High-resolution photographs and press materials about the venue are available on request.
