WE HAVE KNOWN CONCEPT-STORES CELEBRATING OBJECTS, NOW WE HAVE FUSION-STORES DEDICATED TO EXPERIMENTS

Seen in Paris : Recently opened at 16 rue de Lancry, near the Place de la République in Paris, HABILE. is a unique place that combines a unisex ready-to-wear offer on the first floor with a restaurant on the first floor. The collection is also on the menu, which allows customers, while ordering a dish, to have a glimpse of the T-shirts, aprons, socks or jackets imagined by the brand. A cellar, a delicatessen and a private space complete the offer. The two founders of the place (one from the restaurant business, the other from the fashion industry) are already announcing future collaborations between fashion and cuisine.

What to think about it?

Seemingly anecdotal, the appearance of an offer combining ready-to-wear and catering is quite revealing of the way in which commerce must now be envisaged: as places of experimentation to respond to current expectations of surprise, a source of differentiation, certainly, but also as places of diffusion of values, reflecting a way of understanding life. A few years ago, the two founders of Habile would have opened their own stores. By joining forces, they are creating a new narrative and suggesting new rules . If their know-how differs, the quality, traceability, and even sustainability of the raw materials they use concern the textile as much as the plate. Can't dishes be as "iconic" or the fruit of a responsible approach as clothing? Can't the two be united around a common color? The coming together of these two worlds, here materialized by the irruption of one on the menu of the other, opens the way to a new common vocabulary and to new forms of potential collaborations that will be like promises of new experiences for customers.
